Second Sock Saga

Posted on June 11th, 2009, by Nuri

Yesterday was a very slow day at work, so I got quite a bit of knitting done between that and waiting for my MMA class to begin. In fact, I stayed up late turning the heel on my second sock because I wanted to get through to the straight part of the leg. Naturally, I [...]

The Lace of My Dreams

Posted on May 26th, 2009, by Nuri

Last night I had a dream. This dream involved many things, but the part I remember the most vividly is picking up a half-finished lace wrap that I was working on and showing it to my mother. Somehow the lace looked perfectly blocked already, despite the project being unfinished. She ooh’d and aah’d over it [...]

Project Progress

Posted on April 22nd, 2009, by Nuri

Two projects I haven’t mentioned in awhile:
My lace virgin project is coming along nicely! I’m about 80% done with it, and am on the last ball of yarn. I’m finally good enough at it that I’ve stopped forgetting YOs and don’t need the lifelines as much. I’ve got the hang of the pattern and the [...]

On the left we have Nuclear Bunny, a colorway of bright greens on a mix [...]

Sock Fun

Posted on March 27th, 2009, by Nuri

It’s very liberating to be able to play with a project and not have it matter if things aren’t mapped out perfectly. The sock recipe I’m using allows me a lot of flexibility! I got bored doing ribbing, so I added in some cables. What I intended to be a peach stripe came out bright [...]

Yarn Diet

Posted on March 12th, 2009, by Nuri

This month I started cleaning my craft room, and one thing has come to my attention:
I could knit for YEARS with the supply of yarn that I have right now.
Between sweaters to be unraveled, commercial yarn, and hand-me-down mystery yarn from friends and family, it’s likely that I would not need any more yarn for [...]
