Sock Fun
It’s very liberating to be able to play with a project and not have it matter if things aren’t mapped out perfectly. The sock recipe I’m using allows me a lot of flexibility! I got bored doing ribbing, so I added in some cables. What I intended to be a peach stripe came out bright orange. Right next to an orange stripe. Oh well, who cares? I’m learning to make socks. They don’t have to be perfect! Which is good, because the stripes are quite long.
I also figured out that these are going to be WAY longer than I had originally thought. Possibly knee-highs!
Here are some pictures of my sock progress. It’s my first experience with short rows, but I found the concept pretty easy to follow. I’ve done something similar before without knowing what it was, but wrapping the stitches is new. Yay for no holes!
Started with yarn…

Made a toe!

And now it’s a sock that continues to grow…

The orange-orange threw off my color scheme a bit, but hey…it’s part of the learning process. next time I want peach, I will not use that combination of colors. For now, I have flamboyantly-colored citrus-socks!
